Mary (McAuliffe) Toomey May 18 1920 – Oct 1 2011 After a courageous battle on Saturday October 1st 2011. Mary (Mae) A wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend will be remembered for her compassion, kindness and devotion. The lifelong patron of St Anthony’s Parish will be forever missed. Preceded by her parents Martin & Elizabeth McAuliffe, loving wife to the late Edward James Toomey and her sisters Helen and Loretta. Survived by Paul, Michael (Nancy), Brian, Edward (Gloria), Wayne (Elena), and John; Also 9 grand children, Danielle, Lisa, Michelle, Colleen, Ryan, Jamie, Robert, Kelly and Shannon; and 4 great grand children, Lucas, Noah, Emma and Marcus. Special thanks to her caregivers, Andrea, Sharon and Marlene. Friends will be received at Cardinal Funeral Home, Bathurst Chapel, 366 Bathurst Street today from 2:00 – 9:00pm. I just saw Mae's obitituary in the Star.Your Mom and dad were the first people we knew when we moved to Westmoreland Ave in 1964.Paul, perhaps you remember babysitting our Kevin at 207. We have a picture of Wayne and Kevin in our living room there. I last spoke with your Mom when your Dad passed away.
