Obituary

God called Dionisio Silva Leite peacefully on October 24, 2024 at the age of 81. He is now reunited in Heaven with his parents Antonio Leite and Lourdes Leite. Beloved partner of Maria Amelia Leite. Cherished by his dear children, Elisabeth (Mariano), Donny, and Michael. Proud grandfather to Daniel, David, and Mark. He will be greatly missed by his sister Lourdes, and his brothers Armando, Antonio Manuel, José Alberto, Norberto, in-laws, neices and nephews.

Born in Faial da Terra, São Miguel Açores, married his dear wife Amelia before moving to Canada in 1969. Dionisio worked in construction and for Beer Precast for twenty years, where he took great pride in his part constructing the concrete blocks that would be used to construct several Toronto landmarks.

For over a decade, he played clarinet with the Lira de Nossa Senhora de Fatima marching band, serving the Portuguese Catholic Church community processions in Toronto and the United States.

Dionisio loved spending time with his family, tending to his vegetable garden, and his sometimes rocky relationships with the Blue Jays and Benfica.

He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and friends in both Canada and the United States.
