Obituary
Passed away in his sleep Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the of age 57. Husband of Pegi Cecconi, beloved father to Antonia Zar (Toni) Wales and Kate Cecconi Wales, brother to Cathy Brown, Sandy Ferris, Dawn O'Leary,Peggy McGhee, and Carol Wauchope and son to Douglas Wales. Predeceased by mother Ruby Wales, sister Delene Somerville and brother Mervyn Holohan. A pilot, golfer, skier, and animal lover (aka Dougie Do-Little) is lovingly remembered by family and friends as the sweetest dad ever,the most humble man in the world, and "the best project manager in the business". A Service celebrating Doug’s life will be held at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street (North of Dundas) on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.Visitation

Dear Peg, Toni & Kate, my heart goes out to all of you at this difficult time. Dougie and i became friends almost instantly after meeting. I considered him a dear friend and he will be in my thoughts every day until we meet again. He was a wonderful father, husband, friend and co-worker. Dougie could always bring a smile to my face no matter how difficult a situation may be. I consider myself lucky to have known him, friends like that are one in a million. My deepest sympathy to Doug's family.
Doug was always consistently gentle, humorous and man.
A flu virus unfortunately made it impossible to pay my respects in person.
Dougie Doo will continue to exist in many peoples fond memories of life with him.

Doug was a great friend and companion
Over the last 20 odd years that we worked together, I had the pleasure of sharing special moments with him outside of our work world.
He was always a great friend who spoke lovingly of his family and friends. And was easy to laze away time with...
I will always think of him in his VW bug with his grey hair blowing in the wind...

To the family of Doug Wales, I had the good fortune to work with Doug on several projects, he was always upbeat and positive about the job, even when it was going sideways into a ditch. He will be missed very much, I am so sorry for your loss, it came much too soon.

Dear Pegi, I was so shocked and saddened. He left too soon. It's been a long time since all the high jinks at The Last Resort, but those memories live on. I am still amazed that he was able to live so gracefully and tolerantly with four women. I remember Doug as intelligent, charming, handsome, gentle, sensitive, funny, and fun. We had the pleasure of working with Doug for over 20 years. Doug was a professional-courteous, helpful and respectful of his colleagues and clients. He was indeed the best project manager in the business.
Most importantly, his family came first. No matter how busy or stressful of a day he was having, he always took your calls. You were the loves of his life.

So, so sad. He was one in a million—like Julie says, so many good memories. I was just looking out the window at the bright yellow maple leaves and remembering him rake leaves, Toni playing in them, Kate brand new. Because of geography I only saw him twice in the last 15 years, but it was one of those friendships where you know you can pick up where you left off no matter how many years have gone by. Love you Dougie. And the rest of the clan.
