My condolences to Gil's family and friends. He was truly a great and amazing guy and whoever had the opportunity to meet him was truly lucky. He was the party kind of guy. The guy who just always wanted to dance and have a great time. He leaves behind great memories, aside from all of the heartbroken people. Life was always a party to him, and that's sure how he would want us to live it. All you had to do was get him some Havana club and a cigar, and he would be groving all night haha! Truly an Amazing person. I will never forget everything that he did for me. He was truly and honestly one of the best people I have ever met in my life. It's so sad to see him go, but he's in a better place now and I'm sure he's getting that party started up there! I know that he wouldn't want us to cry for him. He would want us to grab that bottle of Havana, light up those cigars and dance all night long to spanish music!

To the Maiato Family - words cannot express the scense of loss that Gil's close friends have in learning of his sudden passing. Many of us dealt with Gil on a professional leval and on a personal level. He was a true friend - always wanting to help in anyway he could. He was a patient teacher - respectfull, fair and always willing to teach, and for us personally a big brother. Our deepest condolenses to the family and everyone who's heart he touched. Brother you will never be forgotten...RIP

To Gil's family, I haven't known Gil for all that long but I did know him long enough to experience the great pride and love he had for his family. I worked with him for just over a year and often spoke to people about the great respect and admiration I had for him. He was ever the gentleman and even more admirable was the way he mentored his team and showed them the ropes with grace and ease. He will be sadly missed. Every time I smell fresh cologne in the hallways of 401 Bay, I'll think of Gil! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
