Obituary

Jaroslawa Tarocinska passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the age of 106.

Jaroslawa was predeceased by her husband, Stanislaw and her son, Walter.  She will forever be lovingly remembered by her daughters Mary (John) and Stella (Don); her grandchildren Patrick (Shirley), Jennifer (Chris), Melissa (Kevin) and Emily (Marc); and her four adoring great-grandchildren Colson, Noelle, Declan and Isla.

Jaroslawa emigrated from Poland to Canada in 1958 with her young family.  They settled in Toronto in the Trinity-Bellwoods area and overcame challenges to build a wonderful life for themselves. Jaroslawa, lovingly known as Babcia, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Family was the centre of her world.  She was extremely proud of all their accomplishments, and was eager to hear what was happening in their lives.  Family and friends were always welcomed into her home with open arms, a table overflowing with delicious homemade meals and a perfectly tended garden that she loved to share.  Babcia was generous and kind, and cherished spending time with those she loved.

Jaroslawa spent her last three years at Copernicus Lodge, where her strength and determination were an inspiration to everyone that had the privilege to know her.  She lived her life to the end on her own terms with dignity, grace and gratitude.  Jaroslawa’s lasting words of wisdom, which she herself followed throughout her life were, “Live with a grateful heart."

Zawsze będziemy cię kochać Babcia.
