Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Papacosmas on April 6, 2025, at the age of 83.

Michael was born on April 7th, 1941 in Kavala, Greece, to George and Olga (née Nounopoulo) Papacosmas, and brother of Constantine.

He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Costoula (née Spiropoulos), with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Michael was a cherished father to the late George and Tina, and a beloved Papou (grandfather) to Lila and Michael.

With the unwavering support of his wife, Costoula, Michael completed his degree in Development and Management from McGill University, attending night classes while working as a bank clerk to support his family. Their sacrifices, dedication, and loving devotion allowed him to succeed in balancing a demanding professional life with his deep commitment to his family.

Michael's legacy lives on in the values he instilled in his children and grandchildren—his greatest achievement. His lessons, love, and strength will continue to comfort his family through their loss.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Gerry and Nancy Brain Trust Centre.
