Mr. Philip Michael Olynyk

I never met Phil in person. However we had many enjoyable conversations online. He was such a kind man and seemed to live joyfully. He is deeply missed in his online community. God speed, Pholy!

My condolences to you at this sad time. Phil was a wonderful man - so friendly, helpful and full of laughter. He made my time with Jubilate a joy. May the memories of him last with you forever.

My cousin Phil, always the picture of cheerfulness and youth to my eyes in our regular Allan cousin zoom meets. Will miss his knowledge and calm presence. Sincere condolences to all the family.

I knew Phil as a member of Jubilate Singers. Phil contributed so much to the choir! He was a steadfast volunteer and lovely tenor singer. His kind and supportive ways will be greatly missed by our singing community. Sending my sincere condolences to Phil's family and friends.

Phil was a longtime Jubilate Singers tenor who was also very active behind the scene. For many years, he supported our choir not only with his fine tenor voice but also with his time and energy and considerable abilities. Phil put us online and helped design our first website; built the risers that we still use in our performances and looked after getting them to and from concerts; found and arranged for our singing venues; and organized and marshalled the choir at concerts. Even after Phil left the choir, he kept up with our news, continued to help with tech issues, and faithfully attended our performances. I miss our post-concert meals together, for as those who knew him will attest, Phil was one of the sweetest people you would ever want to meet. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I trust that Phil's Spirit is flying high and enjoying all there is in whatever comes after passing. Phil, really going to miss you on Allan Cousins' zoom, it was always a pleasure to have your thoughts on all the we discussed. Condolences to Kathy & David, family and friends from Brenda and I. I sang in the tenor section of Jubilate Singers with Phil and after he left the choir he usually joined our family for Christmas Eve dinner, sometimes attending a late church service at Trinity St. Paul's United Church. He had such a gentle, positive attitude. We have his euphonium in our living room, which my children can just make out how to play. He is missed. Many years we sang together with the Toronto Song Lovers. We made some beautiful music together! Thank you, Phil for all the beautiful memories.

Phil was a valued member of the Jubilate Singers - a tenor, executive member, tech guru, and indefatigable production manager. Even after he stopped singing with Jubilate, he still helped out with tech issues behind the scenes. Several times a year he would come over to my house to work on website updates or computer issues, always ending with dinner at Harbord House. He was a good and loyal friend, and I will miss him very much.
