Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ramiro Dias Valinhas on Thursday, February 17th, at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his family at the age of 91.

Ramiro was born in Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal on January 27, 1931, and immigrated to Canada in the early 1970's to give his young family a better life.

Ramiro will always be remembered by is beloved wife, Maria Valinhas, of 60 years whom he shared a very special, loving bond with, and by his adored children, Carlos (Zelia), Maria Conceisao (Cesario), and lovingly remembered as VoVo by his grandchildren; Justin, Michael, Nelson and Alexandra.  He is joining his loving parents, Antonio Jose Valinhas Jr. and Otlinda J. Dias and his cherished siblings, Abel and Isaura and brother-in-law Antonio.  He is survived by his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, Nephew Tony and their families.
Ramiro was an exceptional person who will always be remembered as a devoted family man, and hard-worker with a kind heart and a true gentleman.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In Lieu of flowers, a sympathy gift in memory donation can be made to St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation.
Or to the St. Mary of the Angels Parish
