Born in 1932 in Molai, Greece, to Maria (2005) and Efstratios (1944), Tony’s life was shaped by resilience and determination. After losing his father at the age of 12, he became the rock of his family as the eldest of six siblings—steadfast and deeply committed to their well-being. At 27, he immigrated to Canada to build a future with his adored wife, Eleni, with whom he shared 66 loving years of marriage. Together, they brought his cherished mother and siblings to Canada in the early 1960s, ensuring they could all build a life together. Tony was a devoted father to his two sons, Steve and Emmanuel, who will forever carry the values he instilled by example—integrity, determination, and dependability.
He is predeceased by his siblings Glikeria (2017), Olga (2018), Christos (2021), and Stratis (2024). He is survived by his brother George and sister-in-law Matina, as well as his brothers-in-law Michalis (late Glikeria) and Panagiotis (late Olga). Tony’s passion for knowledge, history, and sports shaped many of his interests. He was exceptionally well-read and had a sharp mind, excelling in the art of debate, where his keen intellect and strong convictions made for lively discussions. He followed all sports with encyclopedic knowledge and enthusiasm. A lifelong and avid trapshooter, hunter, and fisherman, he had a deep respect for nature and wildlife.
Tony’s presence will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
