Obituary
Valdemar Oliveira left us on Tuesday December 17, 2024. He died peacefully after praying with the incredible staff at St. George Care Community who loved and cared for him in such a special way, to them we will forever owe them a debt of gratitude. That is how his time on earth ended, now the story that led up to this moment was one in which he walked with God step by step. Born in the Azores, Portugal to Pedro and Zelia Oliveira he left from Portugal along with his siblings Osvaldo, Aida, Maria and Carlos to start their new life together in Toronto, Canada. From photos and stories, it is clear although life was not perfect, he always searched out joy and creativity and he found it. Life was challenging but he always managed to be calm and peaceful no matter what came. He was a survivor and with the love and support of family and friends he overcame many obstacles. He honestly has to be one of the most loving and faith-filled persons there ever was. He will be greatly missed by his parents, his siblings, their spouses, his nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. He was a gentle soul who never complained despite all of his hardships and was generally interested in you and your story. In many ways he was an incredible teacher of important life lessons and those valuable lessons will live on in all those who were blessed to spend time with him.
The pain of loss is deep but the love we feel for you is greater. Your memories bring peace to our hearts even in sadness. You will be missed immensely but you will always be with us in spirit and in memory, your light will never stop shining among us, rest in peace.
