Obituary

Peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones, at the Dorothy Ley Hospice in Toronto on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Catherine White. Devoted father of Darlene White, Wayne White and his wife Liz, and proud grandfather of Ellis and Catherine. Dear brother of Clifton White, Edna Brophy, Pauline Strayer, Genevieve Holmes, Mercedes Stevenson and Mary O'Quinn and predeceased by brother Myron White. Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Frances Horan and Velma Campbell, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Staff of the Dorothy Ley Hospice, Dr. Andrew Bayley of Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr. Caroline Chessex and Dr. Jordan Feld at the Toronto Western Hospital, Dr. Hamroz Hamrahi of the Toronto Grace Hospital, and Dr. Michael Rahman and the Staff at Pinewood Natural Health Centre for the compassionate and dedicated care they gave our Dad; your kindness will not soon be forgotten. The family will receive friends at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street (north of Dundas), on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Church (Bathurst and Bloor) on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wilfred's memory to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
