Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the announcement of the passing of Anna Moskal on January 21st, 2025.
Anna is predeceased by her parents Gregor (Nestor) & Maria (Ker). She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years; Dmytro Moskal. Anna is also survived by her loving sons: Stepan (Katya), Ihor (Marta), and Wasyl (Larissa). Her very cherished grandchildren; Oksana, Andrew, Olenka, Alex, Matthew, Michael, Sofia, Nadia, Ksenia, and loving extended family in Canada, Ukraine, and the USA. Anna was born in Lemkivshchyna, Poland in 1935. Anna later met the love of her life Dmytro Moskal in Ukraine, where they married in 1959.
In 1977, Anna & Dmytro immigrated to Canada. Within the same year, she started working full time at Ivan Franko Home for the Aged, where she worked until her retirement in 1995. Anna was truly a one of a kind woman. Not only did she devote her life to her family by being a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she was known by those dear to her for the beautiful Ukrainian embroidery she would create, and the delicious meals she would insist on preparing with love. As a survivor of Breast Cancer, she allowed her strength to shine through this difficult period in her life to to focus on things that mattered to her: her family, her friends, and the community she helped build in her home of Canada. Anna held her passion for Ukraine and her personal beliefs very close to her heart, this is reflected in Anna being a devout parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Per the families request, donations may be made directly to Breast Cancer Canada & The Canada Ukraine Foundation
