We had the pleasure of being Mark and Mrs. Neal's neighbours for several years and enjoyed so many lovely conversations over the fence from our back yards. Mrs. Neal was clearly a strong matriarch. When my children were being rowdy in the yard, she'd speak of the how wonderful it was to have children and a family. She was always kind and caring asking after how everyone in our household was doing. I liked hearing her and Mark's stories about the history of neighborhood and how things have changed. We also enjoyed chatting gardening plans and tips and sharing bounty - she knew how to grow abundant basil plants! I know Mrs.Neal battled health complications for much of her life, but she seemed to face it with such strength and grace; enjoying the small things. My heart goes out to Mark and family. There's never the right words to say in these circumstances. But hope you all take the time to grieve, celebrate and remember her in a way that feels good for you.

My Aunt Bertha was an awesome daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and great-aunt. She always spoke so lovingly of Frank and Peggy, Mark and Jon and Matthew. They were everything to her. Aunt Bertha was a great cook and baker and her preservers were second to none. She made the best butter tarts, oatmeal cookies, peach and grape jelly and dill pickles. She was a significant part of my entire life and I miss her. May you Rest in Peace Aunt Bertha and I know you are now soaring with the angels. I'll love you forever.
