Obituary

Neilans, Mary Margaret Gladys January 13, 1916 – October 8, 2011 At Castleview Wychwood Towers in Toronto at 95 years of age. Gladys (nee Plante), wife of the late Norman (Al) Neilans. Mother of Art, Bob, Mary and their spouses. Grandmother of Laura and her husband, and of Marianne and Emma. Great-grandmother of Emily. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur Plante and Mary (Morgan) Plante, her brother Daniel, her sister Muriel, and her youngest brother, Flying Officer Arthur Vincent Plante, killed in action shortly before the end of World War II, buried in Denmark. Gladys was the last surviving member of the Plante family. Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto, on Tuesday, October 11, 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, October 12, from 10-11 am, prior to a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (Bathurst and Bloor), Toronto, Ontario at 11:30 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, (8361 Yonge Street,Thornhill) following the mass. The family wishes to thank Sylvie Romeo and Rene and all of the staff of Castleview Wychwood Towers for their compassionate care of Gladys. In loving memory of Gladys donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
