I am saddened to hear of the passing of Helen Bodnar , she and her late husband Mike were the Starosta/ Starostyna at my wedding in 1982. The years and distance prevented us from seeing her but I remember her kindness and easy smile and hugs . I still have the gift from our wedding and will cherish forever. Rest in peace with the angels , much love Marusia , George and Christine Hawryluk.++

Dear Helen and your family, You and Mike were my parent's friends. Anastazia and Wasyl Kusznir. You were also very dear to me, Marusia. You were always ready to lend a hand, and had time to listen with a big heart. Many many times we spoke of what women can do in our community. The best was that you did what you set out to do. Your kindnesses are very much appreciated. Helen, I'm sure you will go ahead of us and prepare a welcome in a better place for all of who follow you. In the main time, watch over us as you did when you were here. Vichnaya Pamiat - Kusznir family

I am the daughter of Hugh and Elsie Wright who enjoyed being neighbours of Mike and Helen for many years on Abinger Crescent in Toronto. My mom and dad are both gone now, mom died in 2004 and dad in 2008. In their absence, I extend to you sincere sympathy on Helen's passing. She was a kind and gentle person and a good friend to my mom and dad. Janet (Wright) Elder
