My condolences to Maria's family. Maria was such a wonderful person that I was really fortunate to know. She could always make me laugh. A very special woman. We miss her so much already.

Maria was a wonderful person. We have had the pleasure of knowing her for over a decade. With Maria you always knew you were going to get an interesting story, a delightful update on her family, and best of all, a cheerful laugh. She was a very unique and special person and even when she was going thru her own pain she was always there for you and tried to comfort you....we are all better people for having met her and for her being in our lives. I will never forget the first day i met you Maria...we became fast freinds and we continued our freindship to the end.....i love you so much and i will never forget you. Maria was such a warm, loving and inspirational woman. I was so saddened to see the news of her passing-- she will be missed. My deepest condolences to the entire family. I am only comforting by knowing that she is now reunited with her angel, Derek.

I want to express my deepest condolences to all those that loved Maria Goretti and had the opportunity of connecting with this wonderful spirit during her short 50 years. I had the pleasure of seeing Maria Goretti various times through her married life as we become distance relatives through her marriage. I was always impressed with her ever ready smile, warm disposition and tolerance for the cards that life had dealt her. We both become mothers in 1985 thus that became a bond. When her son passed away at the age of 18, I had no idea what to say to comfort her; however it was Maria Goretti who provided the words so beautifully. She spoke about the love her son had brought to the whole family. Even though our busy lives made it so that we rarely saw each other, I will miss her presence in this world. As Maria Goretti had the ability to put people at ease we would resume our conversation of years gone by easily as if we had just spoken a few minutes ago. Her smile was always a welcomed sight at any occasion that I had the good fortunate to share with her. My hope is that God in his wisdom has taken her from her family to be with her son and that both of them are now pain free. My prayers are with all her family and friends that in time their hearts will mend. We are all better for having known Maria Goretti as she was a unique treasure put on this earth by God so that we all could learn from her brief but courageous journey.

Ryan, Andrew and Ed my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mom and your wife. It is with great sadness that I'm writing this note but also. I know her suffering is over and she is in a better place with her angel Derick. May god bless you three and allways remember Goretti loved the three of you so very much, keep her your prayers.
