Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Olivia Ledo, who passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Olivia was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and aunt and leaves broken hearts in the family members who will miss her terribly.

A tiny and true force of nature, Olivia had a big heart and filled it to the brim with her loving family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the many nieces whom she held very dear to her heart. She will be remembered fondly for her formidable character by family and friends in Canada, the USA, Bermuda and Portugal.

Growing up during the Depression had lasting effects on Olivia, one of which was her infamous tendency to load up her daily tea with sugar, a distinction that turned most of her grandchildren into tea drinkers themselves.

An accomplished crocheter and seamstress, Olivia refused to ever let her hands sit idle. Family, friends and friends of friends were given handmade gifts like hats and scarves, while anyone expecting a baby could also expect one of Olivia's ultra-soft baby blankets.

Olivia was predeceased by her loving husband Gabriel Ledo and her cherished son Gabriel Junior, she is survived by her son Joe and daughter Christine. Her family takes comfort that she is now reunited with her beloved two Gabriels.

In lieu of flowers donations to Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated.
