It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Celia Gomes Cerqueira, who passed away in death on April 14, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on August 20,1935 in Brazil, Celia lived a life defined by resilience, compassion, and an unwavering spirit.
Even in the face of adversity, she found reasons to laugh. Her jokes, her wit, and her light-heartedness brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
An artist and teacher by trade, Celia had a unique ability to see beauty in the world, even in its most difficult moments. Her creativity was not only expressed through her work, but in the way she lived her life — with imagination, heart, and deep appreciation for the people and moments that truly mattered.
She is survived by her beloved partner Antonio Amado, her daughter Lucimar Temer (Claudio), her son, James Cerqueira, (Simone) and youngest daughter Jacquie Cerqueira, her 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren + one more on the way who will continue to carry her love and legacy in their hearts. She also leaves behind countless friends and chosen family whose lives were brighter because of her presence.

É com profunda tristeza que anunciamos o falecimento de Célia Gomes Cerqueira, que faleceu no dia 14 de Abril de 2025, cercada de amor.
Nascida em 20 de Agosto de 1935 no Brasil, Célia viveu uma vida definida pela resiliência, compaixão e um espírito inabalável.
Mesmo diante da adversidade, ela encontrou motivos para rir. Suas piadas, sua sagacidade e sua leveza trouxeram conforto e alegria a todos que a conheciam.
Artista e Professora de profissão, Celia tinha uma capacidade única de ver a beleza no mundo, mesmo em seus momentos mais difíceis. Sua criatividade não foi expressa apenas através de seu trabalho, mas na maneira como ela viveu sua vida - com imaginação, coração e profundo apreço pelas pessoas e momentos que realmente importavam.
Ela deixa seu amado companheiro Antonio Amado, sua filha Lucimar Temer (Cláudio), seu filho, James Cerqueira, (Simone) e sua filha mais nova Jacquie Cerqueira, seus 7 netos e 4 bisnetos + mais uma a caminho que continuará a carregar seu amor e legado em seus corações. Ela também deixa para trás inúmeros amigos e familiares escolhidos cujas vidas foram mais brilhantes por causa de sua presença.
