WASYL (WILLIAM) KORDIUK



Passed away, in his 94th year, at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Queen Elizabeth Centre on March 12, 2005. Beloved husband of the late Jaroslawa (1999). Loving father of Roman (Nadia), and Yarko. Dear brother of Mykola (Irene), and Anastasia. Predeceased by six siblings. He is fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in Canada, the United States and Ukraine.



He began his career as a teacher, after completing his university education, in Ukraine. Uprooted by WW II, he and his young family immigrated to Canada. He was a long time employee of William Neilson Ltd. On Saturdays, he returned to his first vocation and taught Geography at Ukrainian School. His family, church and community were the focus of his life.



The family wishes to thank the staff at Toronto Rehab and other hospitals where he received kind care.



Visitation at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St. (near Keele St.) on Monday March 14 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Panachyda at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service on Tuesday March 15 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, then to St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral for Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Park Lawn Cemetery.



Donations to honour his memory to St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 143 Franklin Avenue, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
