Obituary
On May 11, 2021, Antonio Franceschetti, Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, died at home. He leaves his wife of almost 56 years, Mariolina, 3 children and their partners: Luigi and Cassey, Paola and David, Alberto and Mel, and two grandchildren, Stefano and Alessandro, plus relatives and friends in both North America and Europe.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions and under direction from our regulator, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, effective November 23, 2020 all funerals and visitations will be by invitation only to limit the number of people in attendance and prevent the spread of COVID-19. We encourage those that are unable to attend in person to express their sympathy by posting a message of condolence to our website or by donating to a charity of your choice in memory of your loved one.

Ci siamo persi di vista una vita fa, poco dopo la sua laurea (fui un co-autore del suo papiro); poi lo ritrovai qui a Padova, occasionalmente, oltre quarant'anni fa a casa della cognata e mi rivide con grande cordialità. Del resto non ho mai dimenticato la sua cortesia, la sua simpatia, la sua raffinata cultura e la sua ironia che resero indimenticabili le allegre serate trascorse a casa d'un comune amico e i ricordi d'una gioventù ormai dolorosamente remota
