Teresa De Jesus Homen
(10 February 1944 to 31 March 2021)
It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Teresa De Jesus Ramos Homen, who joins her beloved husband Jose Homem. She was born in Santo Antonio, São Miguel, Azores in 1944 and immigrated to Canada in 1974 but always held long-lasting sentiment for the Azores. Teresa loved going on walks, visiting and spending time with family and friends, laughing, sharing a good joke as well as stories of her past. She also loved cooking for her family, McDonalds coffee, and being around nature. Family was the most important thing to her.
Teresa De Jesus Ramos Homen was a devoted and beloved mother who was the light of our lives and has brought joy to those who ever came around her. When times were tough she was the one you could count on, listen to, get comfort from, and who always put everyone’s needs first before her own. She will be greatly missed by her loving children and her five grandchildren. We will all endlessly remember her kindness, sense of humor, honesty, sincerity, intelligence, stories, irresistible laugh, unimaginable strength, as well as the infinite and welcoming love she had for everyone. She was not only a beautiful person on the outside but also a gorgeous person on the inside. A truly remarkable human being whose generosity, selflessness, and compassion touched every one she knew and whose strength will forever be an inspiration to us all. To us, you will always be our “Cara Linda.”
É com grande tristeza e profundo pesar que anunciamos o passagem da nossa querida mãe e avó, Teresa De Jesus Ramos Homen, que se junta ao seu querido marido Jose Homem. Nasceu em Santo António, São Miguel, Açores em 1944 e imigrou para o Canadá em 1974 mas sempre teve um sentimentoduradouro pelos Açores. Teresa adorava passear, visitar e ficarcom a família e amigos, rindo, contando uma boa piada e também histórias de seu passado. Ela também adorava cozinharpara sua família, café do McDonalds, e estar perto da natureza. Família era a coisa mais importante para ela.
Teresa De Jesus Ramos Homen foi uma mãe devotada e querida, que foi a luz de nossas vidas e trouxe alegria para aqueles que sempre a conheceram. Quando os tempos eram difíceis, ela era aquela com quem você podia contar, ouvir, obter conforto e sempre colocar as necessidades de todos em primeiro lugar elamesma. Ela fará muita falta para seus filhos amorosos e antes cinco netos. Todos nos lembraremos sem parar de sua bondade, senso de humor, honestidade, sinceridade, inteligência, histórias, riso irresistível, força inimaginável, assim como o amor infinitoe acolhedor que ela tinha por todos. Ela não era apenas umapessoa bonita por fora, mas também uma pessoa linda por dentro. Um ser humano verdadeiramente notável, cujagenerosidade, abnegação e compaixão tocaram a todos que elaconheceu e cuja força será para sempre uma inspiração para todos nós. Para nós, você sempre será nossa “Cara Linda”.
