In Celebration of CRAIG SCOTT

February 25, 1963 - October 26, 2020

With his amazing wife Elizabeth (Lou) by his side, Craig passed away peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital following a brief battle with cancer. Heartbroken by this significant loss, we are also comforted by the fact that he is no longer suffering.

Loving husband of Elizabeth Scott (nee Weir) and brother to Sandra Carlson (Dave). Predeceased by his parents, Mac and Nadia Scott, his brother Gary Scott and his girls Betty & Daisy. Craig was the favourite son-in-law of Janet Weir and brother-in-law to Kenneth Weir (Jane Davey). He was the adoring & crazy uncle to Ashley (Adam) Hallman, Shannon Weir, David Weir, Tara Carlson & Michael (Jennifer) Carlson.  He was also a cherished friend to many and loving Pa to Jerry.

Craigie lived his life in appreciation of quality, in people, conversation, travel, food, and truly lived his best life with no regrets. He brought joy and laughter to those lucky enough to share a pint with him.

Elizabeth wishes to thank the dedicated & caring medical team at Princess Margaret Hospital. In particular, she is grateful to the very kind & supportive palliative care team.

Elizabeth also wishes to thank everyone for the support and generosity of all friends and family during this difficult time.

Craigie, I don't recall who came up with that moniker, I certainly don't remember you as Craigie in high school. But it so fits the friend I knew later in Toronto. Craigie ... the imp, the misbehaving rascal, always up for hi-jinx and adventures. You and Louie were the perfect foil – mayhem and calm, even though it was never really clear which came from where. I will miss you buddy – as Anda said, you're a gentle soul and I know you'll be entertaining the troops for eternity. Louie, lots of love – please stay in touch. Dean

We are so terribly saddened by the news of Craig’s passing and while we did not know him personally, we knew him through the stories Lou shared, such fun they had, forming deep friendships wherever they went! Craig and Lou so appreciate the camaraderie one gets over good food and a pint or two! Lou, our thoughts are with you, and we’re here for you....

So sorry for your loss, Lizzie & Craig's family. The line in the eulogy sums it all up: "The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long." - Lao Tzu. The amazing thing about Craigie is that it isn't going to be difficult to remember all the great times!

Dear Lou, as one of many childhood friends of Craigie in St Albert, we have been left heartbroken over his loss. We have cherished memories of Mac and Nadia's home parties in the basement. What a great family !! Craig was a kindred spirit and funny as heck, he called me Shirley, never did get to ask him why, lol. I will never forget his laugh, kindness and gentle nature towards others. He will be truly missed, i wish you comfort and appreciation for his care during the hard times. Our deepest condolences to the family and to Sandra and Dave. Much love, Natalie and Linda xo

I am so sorry and sad to hear the news of Craig's passing. He was such a staple in our Foggy Dew crew and he will be deeply missed. My last memory of Craig is him dancing to "Move on Up" by Curtis Mayfield with my one year old daughter, and it was just the sweetest thing. I will cherish this memory forever. XOXO
