Obituary
On August 23rd, 2009, Bill Davidson passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his children, Andrew, Jess, Bill and Kerry, and his wife, Robin. He is survived by his sisters Lynne (Ron) and Marian (Pierre), and their children.
A well-respected analytical and physical chemist who obtained his PhD from the University of Alberta in the late 70's, for more than 20 years Bill was VP of Research at MDS Sciex in Toronto. It was there that Bill assembled a team of scientists and created a research environment that fostered innovation, commercial success and growth of the business. Bill was highly respected among the scientists for his scientific perception and knowledge, as well as for his skill in providing gentle direction with maximum freedom for innovation.
Bill’s family and many friends will remember him as a quiet gentleman with a dry sense of humour, razor-sharp wit and a truly remarkable zest for knowledge that he willingly shared with everyone who knew him. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds; he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Bill’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Sunnybrook Hospital, the supportive staff’s care and compassion was greatly appreciated.
Family, friends and colleagues are invited to celebrate Bill's life on Saturday, September 26, 2009 between 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Archibald's Pub, 8950 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 6Z7, (905) 889-0235.

In lieu of flowers the family knows that Bill would appreciate donations to Sunnybrook Hospital.
