Funeral Mass will be held at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church (589 Adelaide Street). Mr. Maiato will be laid to rest in the Paradise Mausoleum of Park Lawn Cemetery (2845 Bloor Street West). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.Visitation

Uncle Gil always had a special way about him. Standing tall, his bright smile and readiness to greet was witnessed by all who knew him. Always asking about how we were and never alluding to his pains or discomforts. He will be missed among the Maiato family but will be thought of in our prayers. Tia Amelia, Nellie, Anna and Donna, Dom, Ed and Khaleel, Danielle, Christopher, Tess, Elysaa, Liam and Sean. There are no words to lessen your pain or comfort you in the loss of an loving husband, a dedicated and cherished father, a fatherinlaw and grandfather who lived for you all and only wanted the best for you. So take heart he is not far away. With each sunrise and each sunset and stars, look up to the heaves as you will feel his smile as he watches over you. He will never be forgotten. Love beyond words, Gil, Angie, Denise, Andy, Steven, Vanessa and Brandon.
