Obituary
Jamie (James) Christopher Hayes was tragically taken from our family on October 10, 2015 at 7:20 PM after being struck by a car. Jamie comes from a very loving family with his mother, Janet Gardiner Hayes and his father, Christopher Francis Hayes, two sisters, Heather Ann Hayes, Laura Nancy Hayes, and a brother Matthew Peter Hayes (Pre-Deceased), as well as two nephews that he absolutely adored! Nicholas Matthew Schoneveld and Zachary Fernando Da Silva. There are too many family members and friends to mention that were very important in his life. He was a very loving and happy young man. He had an infectious smile that would light up the room, and he was always being a goofball to cheer everyone one up, and to entertain them. We closed our eyes for but a moment and suddenly a man stood where our boy used to be. We may not carry you now in our arms, but we will always carry you in our hearts. You have given us so many reasons to be proud of the man that you became, but the proudest moment for us has been being able to tell people that you were our son. I had the pleasure of teaching Jamie at Western Tech as I was his English teacher in Grade 9 and again in Grade 11. I got to know him over the years as he and his friends would spend their lunch time in my classroom, Room 391, listening to music and practicing their dance moves,Jamie doing the DJing. He was a charming and warm young man. I feel for your loss.
