Obituary

Born Nov 24, 1927 in Zakarpattia, Ukraine, died April 12, 2017 in Toronto leaving behind his wife Larysa, children: Eugen, Anna,(Andrij), Michael, Zenon and grandchildren: Sisika, Maksym, Danylo, Mykyta, Viktoria, Zorya, Yaroslaw, Dmytro, Marichka,and Vitalij. He as many other Ukrainians fled from the Soviet Union at the end of WWII leaving behind his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Initially, he restarted his life in Australia before travelling the world for four years. In Yugoslavia he met his first wife, Tatiana Bocij (d. 1994) and moved to Toronto, Canada. He was an active member of the Brotherhood of Carpathian Sich Veterans and will he will be most fondly remembered for his hobby farm in Loretto, Ontario, his library and love of reading. John is also predeceased by his second wife, Valentina Kopachynska. Visitation Monday April 17, 2017 6-9pm and Panachyda 7:30 will be held at Cardinal Funeral Homes, 92 Annette Street. Funeral services Tuesday 11:30 am at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Toronto and burial at St. Volodymyr Cemetery, Oakville
