Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Alex Sahan announce his passing at the age of 75. He leaves behind his loving and adoring mother, Kay Sahan. He is predeceased by his father William. He leaves his siblings Ron (Orysia), Linda Pelshea (Dennis), niece Odarka Lomon (Brian), Adrian Sahan, step-niece Kim Calaminici (Joe) and Stephanie Pelshea, great uncle to Sofiya and Matthew Lomon and step great-uncle to Hailey. Alex was such a kind, loving, deeply religious and compassionate person.  He gave of himself freely to volunteering in his church and helping others. He had a great sense of humour and all who knew him, knew that he was a consummate conversationalist, never at a loss for words. He worked hard all his life and took great pride in his work as a printer and later received his degree in electrical engineering. God Bless your beautiful soul Alex, for you have lived and loved with your whole heart and in that there is no separation. He will be deeply missed and remembered by his extended family and dear friends.

A private service will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette Street, followed by burial at St. Volodymyr Cemetery, 1280 Dundas St. W in Oakville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alex’s name can be made to a charity of your choice.

Due to the current pandemic restrictions and under direction from our regulator, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, effective November 23, 2020 all funerals and visitations will be by invitation only to limit the number of people in attendance and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Dear Kay and family, to lose a friend is one thing but to lose a son is quite another. We are so sorry for your loss. Our heart felt prayers go out to you at this time. We met as teenagers and hit it off right from the start and rode on our bikes all over the place. He was always kind and we never had an argument in 60 years. We had many conversations about any and everything over that time. We will miss him greatly but we know that he is now secure in God's hands.
