Obituary

There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.

Andrew Josef Tautorat passed away suddenly at the age of 31 on August 19, 2022, at the home he shared with his fiancé, Zachary Goodrich.  They spent eight a half special years together.

Andrew was lovingly referred to as both “Andy” and “Drew” by his friends and family.

In his younger years, Andrew was a talented graffiti artist.  He also had a passion for sports and was an excellent hockey goaltender and loved to play lacrosse.

Andy attended Rosedale Heights School of the Arts and Subway Academy. He was then accepted to the University of Toronto where he studied architecture and landscape design. His latest dream was to study graphic design in more depth.

Drew had a true passion for food and started working in kitchens when he was a teenager. He worked in several high-end restaurants in Toronto and Montreal. His creativity, excellence, and love were on display every time he put out a plate.

He and the love of his life, Zach, had the opportunity to travel around the world. Some of his favourite places included San Sebastian, Paris, Vienna, Berlin, and New York City. He had an unerring instinct for finding the best local cocktail bars and restaurants, both acclaimed and as yet undiscovered. Drew loved sharing what he had learned abroad with his friends and family, crafting culinary experiences for everyone to enjoy.

Andrew is survived by his fiancé Zachary (Goodrich); his father Walter (Tautorat); his sister Tammy (Stevenson) and her husband Craig (Stevenson) and their children Owen, Abigail and Maxwell; and his brother David (Tautorat). His mother, Annette, predeceased him.

Drew was much loved and will be dearly missed by his fiancé’s family: Joanne (Goodrich), Stephen (Goodrich), and Jeffrey, Lucienne, and Ren (Goodrich).

Andrew had many close friends from all walks of life and will be missed by all, especially Caitlin (Lee) and Victoria (Formosa).

Andrew had a passion for life, love, and family. He will be truly missed and forever loved by everyone that met him.
