Tavares, Antonio At Toronto General Hospital on April 3rd 2013. Beloved husband of Maria Da Luz Tavares. Cherished father of Tony (Danae Harvey), Maria De Fatima (Anton Mattadeen), Victor, Robert, Nelson (Tsering Tavares) and Eric. Proud and loving grandfather of Briel Mattadeen and Michelle Tavares. Friends and family may call at the Cardinal Funeral Home (366 Bathurst Street, north of Dundas) on Sunday, April 7 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. and Monday, April 8 from 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church (1680 Dundas Street West). Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St. Clair Avenue West). If desired, donations may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital, though flowers would still be greatly appreciated by the family.Visitation

Our heartfelt, sincerest condolences to Maria de Luz and all of his beloved children and grandchildren. Antonio was a warm,kind hearted man who was easily liked and loved by all who were fortunate to have known him. He was an endearing individual who will live on through the memories and his spirit.

Although, I personally did not know Antonio, his beautiful daughter Maria Tavares's stories made us all feel like he was part of our lives too. Antonio, was a very lucky man to have such a beautiful family, who truly cared for him during his life.
