This is such sad news, what a huge loss. I worked at Youthlink Inner City and chats with Blake were some of the best parts of my day. He had a totally genuine empathy for others and such a sweet gentle way about him. I know he will be terribly missed.

My life is forever changed for having loved and been loved by my dear friend and chosen family Blake Humble. In recent years we just referred to each other by our last name, like sportsfans. I think he was one of my biggest fans. Our last hangout was with Sadie Mae. She was the sunshine in his life. The way he spoke of the life he and Monica had built together was with nothing but the utmost love, admiration and pride. I'm so glad to have seen his life unfold in such wonderful ways. I'm thankful to have had Blake in my cheering section (no matter how sweaty and rambunctious he would get). I'll miss him more than words. My love and condolences to friends and family.

I didn't know Blake very well or for a very long time. However I can say I knew Blake from the impact he had on the people around him. At YouthLink Youth Skills Zone and Inner City the Staff who knew him were energized when they spoke of him - conveying a lightness of heart and a passion for working with those hardest to reach. Blake was genuine,and playful and insightful - and showed a loving commitment to his wife and excitement for the upcoming birth of his child. It was my deep privilege to have known him in the time I had with him.

While I really did not know Blake well, I worked at YouthLink while he worked at Youth Skills Zone and have had great conversations with him.

Monica i am so sorry for your loss, i never knew your partner but i worked wih you,i remember the first time we met you cme for a site visit and a ride along on the street outreach van with us you made us feel so comfortable you are a wonderful person and i wish this was not happening to you. My sincerest condolences to you, Monica and Sadie, and to Blake's huge chosen family. Blake was my first roommate ever, when I was 19, and he took me under his wing and introduced me to an amazing circle of friends. I have vivid memories of coffee and long talks on the back porch, Blake singing in the shower, and hanging out in his man cave. Above all I remember that incredible smile, those sparkling eyes, and that big heart. I haven't seen Blake in many years, but was still devastated to learn of his death. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Safe travels Blake.

I worked with Blake and enjoyed his smile and friendship for many years. I left before he started his family, but watched from afar as he flourished as a Dad. I haven't been a part of Blake's life for a good few years now, but he always held such a soft, warm place in my heart and memory. Some things we will never understand or embrace as a necessary part of our experience in this world. This is definitely one of those things for me.
We are lucky to have had the privilege of witnessing the way Blake walked through this world and set a great example of how to live a truly Genuine existence and make very real connections along the way. He will never be forgotten and I will continue to build upon what I learned from him through all our memories together through so many changes & so much life. The best parts of the person I have become in this world are due in great part to Blakes influence.
He will leave an undeniable void in my heart but I will find solace in remembering it would not even be the size it is if it were not for having him be part of its evolution for the last 20 years. Safe travels my dear friend.

Blake is one of the most kind and friendly souls I have encountered and though we weren't very close, I will miss him dearly! What a wonderful friend, loving father and joyous human being. My heart goes out to everyone touched by his life.

I met Blake when we were both in the wedding party for Monica and Shannon Mitchell-Taylor. He was kind, warm, generous and I liked him immediately. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. He will be missed.
