Obituary

Carlos Carreiro passed suddenly Thursday, February 21, 2019. He was born April 2, 1965, in Acores, Portugal. Son of Margarita and Victorino Carreiro. He is survived by his two sons Raymond and Randy, 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Carlos was the 9th child out of 11 children. His childhood in the Acores was simple and wonderous. Carlos came to Canada when he was 10 years old. As he grew older Carlos enjoyed life in the simplest of ways, chatting with friends and spending time with family were one of his two favourite ways. Carlos left us too soon and we did not have chance to say goodbye. He will join his father who will guide him on his new journey. We will shed tears that he is no longer with us, a family never gets over losing a loved one, yet, as the days past we will remember him with that ear to ear smile and those mischievous blue eyes. We will cherish these precious memories as those we love do not leave us, they walk besides us every day always in our hearts always loved.

So very saddened and in disbelief to hear of Carlos' passing. We will sorely miss hearing his uplifting voice telling jokes, and seeing his twinkling eyes. Carlos worked with dear Edwin on our renovations, and they both became close with us and our kids. When the work was done, it felt really quiet and we missed having them around every day. How many people can say that they actually enjoyed their renovation process? To lose both friends at all, and let alone so closely together is heartbreaking. Carlos was a true gem and we will never forget his wonderful, kind, and yes - very mischievously joyous personality.

Carlos worked side by side with our beloved Edwin that we also lost on January 15th of this year. They worked great together for over 20 years! There was never a dull moment for them and they were a great team. In the past several years Carlos became like family to us. Given Edwins diagnosis, he frequently went to visit Edwin at TGH in emergency or ICU. Carlos was even there the day Edwin passed away. My heart went out to Carlos because I saw how heartbroken he was during this entire ordeal. Carlos was a very loyal person. This drew us all even closer to him. I will never forget all that he did for Edwin for Gabriel for my mom and for us as a family. We will truly miss his smile and his tender spirit and yes those piercing blue eyes. I’m truly saddened by your loss. May God shine his light on Carlos and May he Rest In Peace. Cynara Issa and family.
