It is a deep and painful blow to learn the news of Colin’s passing. Gone far too young. My time with Colin harkens back many years to our joyous adventures as children and later as teens. Colin had a kind and caring soul which was evident throughout our years together. I shall never forget his sense of wit, and his wry smile that was in perfect contrast to his gentle demeanor. Perhaps the nicest thing that anyone could say of any individual was that they laughed easily and that their laughter was heartfelt. In his younger years, Colin epitomized that statement. I frequently and fondly recall my times with Colin and his most gracious family. We would often be together on Holidays and we were almost always together during his days in Ottawa. Colin had a deep pride of family and friends. Sadly, as geography often understandably dictates one can regretfully lose touch with those not near. After many years, Colin and I happily yet only recently “got back in touch” - his passing makes our recent interactions so much more poignant. I sensed that the boy and young man I knew so well had grown into a man of thoughtfulness and passion which was clear in our exchanges and his poetry. So to Colin– In the finest of Irish traditions I raise a parting glass and say: “While your legacy and soul are rooted with your wonderful family and friends in Toronto – Rest knowing that your memory and spirit forever lives in those you touched in Ottawa” God Bless You Dearest Colin

I have known Colin for about 35 years. He was one of my brothers best friends and stuck by him in his tough times. I’m so sad that he is gone. He had so many plans and aspirations. His poetry was beautiful. He will be missed.
