Mr. Diniz Frizado

Tia Luia, Connie, Dave, John, Jenny, Jacob, Zachary, Maya and Ryan, we are so sorry and sadden for your lost as well as our lost, as Uncle Diniz was very much part of the fabric of our lives as well. Uncle Diniz played a large role in many of my childhood memories. He was younger than my mother by 2 years; however he played the role of protective big brother to all of his siblings. I never remember my life without him in it. I was his flower girl at his wedding, and many a time his interpreter when he first came to Canada. We forged a nice relationship in his early years in Canada when he did not have his family here as yet. He was the one that helped me prepared the lunch for my brother’s confirmation as my mother was in the hospital. While my father went to get my mother from the hospital for a brief outing so she could be part of the festivities, uncle Diniz and I cooked the meal. There in our small kitchen this quintessential “Giant Gentle” patiently guided, helped, provided pointers to me a child of 13, this memory makes me smile even during this sad time. Our many Christmas Eve’s visits to his home or Uncle Frank’s became an essential part of the holidays for our family. I know you have so many more memories and I hope these provide you comfort and later smiles when you think of how fortunate we were to have him here for the little while we did.
