Obituary
Eusebio Fernandes Sousa, born on Graciosa Island Azores on Dec. 15, 1935, married his life partner, Maria Da Luz on Oct 31st, 1963, became a father to Rui Fernandes in April 1965, and sadly passed away peacefully in his sleep on Oct 14th 2021. He was first a good son, brother, husband and partner, father, then grandfather and ultimately a very good man with a kind and gentle soul. Always ready to say something to try to make you laugh and smile, we have faith that his soul will forever rest in peace and comfort in a better place. He would tell many that he was the most surprised to make it to this age. The last 13 years were very difficult, with many Hospital visits, some with long stays. However, on his last day on earth, he prayed the rosary with his wife Maria as was their routine, climbed up the stairs to his bedroom, lied down in his own bed, and went peacefully to sleep. He will be missed and remembered by his wife Maria, son Rui, daughter-in law Antonina, grandsons Alex, Tim, Simon, and all those that had the pleasure of getting to know him. May God keep his soul in peace. ..... Beginning July 16, 2021 the Bereavement Authority of Ontario is once again permitting visitations and services to take place that are open to the public. We must continue to maintain physical distancing, the wearing of masks and may not allow more than 50 guests at any one time. Once the maximum limit has been reached, we will ask any additional guests to kindly wait outside in a physically-distanced line until there is room to enter safely. In addition to these measures, the Sousa family would like to further request that anyone attending the visitation and funeral mass to be double vaccinated against COVID -19. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations made in memory of Eusebio Sousa to University Health Network Foundation.Visitation
