Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Francisco Rodrigues da Ponte Melo announces his sudden passing on April 19, 2021, at the age of 53. Also known by the names of Frank or Chico, he was loved by many who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Frank leaves behind his loving wife Teresa of 31 years. Loving father to Jessica, Melissa, Sophia and Matthew. Dear son of José and Maria Melo, and brother to Lucia (Eurico). He will be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, along with his nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Frank was born in the town of Claremont, France on November 3, 1967. His parents brought him to Canada at the age of 7. In 1989 he married his wife, Teresa. Together they lived out their dreams of travelling and jumped at every opportunity they could for a new adventure. Frank was an extremely hard-working man. He always gave back to his community and was an active member in his church Parish of St. Peters for many years, and was on various Boards for affordable housing and charitable organizations. He had such a big heart that he would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.
Frank also had a great sense of humour and loved cracking jokes and telling stories that made you laugh so hard you cried. He enjoyed adventures with his family which took them to Mexico, Portugal and various road trips across North America. As long as everyone was together that is all that mattered.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. This is not goodbye forever but just goodbye for now.
Due to COVID-19 visitation is by invitation/booking only and the ceremony is closed to the public.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Luso Canadian Charitable Society in Frank’s name.
Due to the current Covid - 19 restrictions in Toronto that allow a maximum number of guests to attend a funeral, the service details will be kept private and attendance will be by invite-only.

Teresa and family, I offer my deepest heartfelt condolences. In the relatively short time that I knew him, I grew to appreciate Frank as kind and sincere with a wonderful sense of humour. He was also a highly capable and knowledgeable colleague. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Teresa and Family,
Like all who knew Frank I am heartbroken that he is no longer with us. Frank did excellent renovation and repair work for us at Madison Community Services. But Frank had been a colleague and friend long before that. He was someone with a 'heart of gold' - always wanting to help. And also just fun to be around with his great sense of humour and wide range of knowledge/information. He touched all who came into contact with him.
He will be sorely missed by all. But of course the most by his family!

My Condolences to the Melo Family. I have not had the pleasure of meeting Francisco but I know his Son who is dating my Niece Sabrina. Matt is an amazing person and treats my niece with so much respect and love. I'm sure Matts kindness and fantastic personality has everything to do with his upbringing from both Mr. and Mrs. Melo. I wish I had the pleasure of meeting Francisco and I'm sure he will be missed by all and hope his legacy continues further with his wife and kids. God Bless
