Very shocking news. I'm extremely grateful for Gareth's unrelenting kindness towards myself and everyone at AYC, for the sailing advice he'd give me from his years racing dinghies, for the conversations and stories shared after Thursday night racing, and for always making sure I had a ginger ale while all the adults would have a beer after a race night or sail past. There's not a single soul at AYC who won't miss Gareth deeply because he did SO much for that community. My deepest condolences to his family and close friends.

I called Gareth the'Prince of Sailors' for his kindness, generosity and endless patience when helping me with my boat and accompanying me while sailing. Gareth, I was looking forward to discussing plans with you for the AYC entrance garden and planters this spring. I'll put in those tall sea grasses you love so you can watch them wave at you in the gentle breezes as you sail on by.
