Your family in Chicago is heartbroken. We are remembering times we spent together with both smiles and tears. God Blessed us with Ihor, and we will never forget his great laugh, his warm spirit, and the beautiful music he created. Ihor now rests in God's Hands, Cradled in His Love and Mercy. Our love and prayers go out to all of you. Vichnaya Pamyat!

Egle and I were shocked to hear about Ihor's tragic passing, and send our most sincere condolences to his family and friends. Ihor and I go back a long way - Ukrainian school then playing occasionally with Wally Olenych's band. We hadn't heard from him in a couple of years, until a phone call a couple of months ago. Happy to have helped him recently as much as I could. We believe that Ihor's finest days were spent lovingly nurturing, harvesting and marketing Pinot Noir grapes from his vineyard in the Beaver Valley. After years of hard work & perseverence, Ihor harvested his grapes in the winter of 2006 and sold them to a Niagara ice wine maker. The vintage went on to win an Excellence award as “Blue Mountain Vineyards Winter Harvest Pinot Noir 2006” at the prestigious Les Citadelles du Vin competition in France. Well done Ihor! We'll miss you.

My heartfelt condolences to Ihor's family and friends. His time here was too short. I knew Ihor when we played together in the Ukrainian String Orchestra, directed by Professor Kovaliv, in the sixties. We were both violinists, but Ihor was the virtuoso- he played with incredible passion and skill. He was a musical genius! May beloved Ihor play with the Angels now. Vichnaya Pamyat!

Please accept my condolences for the loss of Ihor. It was so sad to hear he is no longer with us. His many accomplishments and gifts inspired us all. He was a good friend to us and very close to our late brother Mike. I know they will now see each other. God bless you, our prayers are with you.

My heart goes out to you. I lost touch with Ihor shortly after our divorce and never heard anything of how he was doing. I always hoped that even though our relationship did not work out that he would find the life and happiness he wanted and deserved. My first love, never forgotten.

Dear family of Ihor, I am so sorry to hear that Ihor is gone. He used to stay with me and my brother when in Toronto. I remember him as a wonderful cook and how proud my brother was when he won an esteemed award for his frozen wine. I hope he is keeping my brother company I Heaven. Sincerely, Lena Petriv
