Obituary

With great sadness, we share that Jaime Rego, age 82, peacefully passed away, surrounded by his wife Liberta, his son Jaime, daughters, Nancy & Lindy.

As most of you know, Jaime immigrated to Canada from Lomba da Maia, Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal, in the 1960’s and lived a simple and loving life with his family and friends in Toronto.

We gather on Wednesday, March 13th, at St. Agnes Parish, in loving memory of our dear Dad, who was the epitome of kindness, strength, and simplicity. He was the unwavering glue that held our family together, a beacon of hard work and resilience. His love for his wife and children knew no bounds, radiating warmth and guidance in every moment.

Our Dad was an avid gardener, and we all enjoyed the benefits of his fresh produce each summer.  He was a true & ardent Toronto Maple Leaf fan & as a result, his wife Liberta has also been a fan for the past 40 years, they enjoyed many a night watching the game & celebrating each goal!

Jaime found solace in managing his beloved apartment building, ensuring it stood tall and proud, much like the values he instilled in us. His dedication to keeping things in order extended beyond bricks and mortar; it was a reflection of his unwavering commitment to his family and community.

A devout Catholic, he found solace and strength in his faith, a cornerstone of his life for over 50 years at St. Agnes. His quiet devotion and steadfast belief inspired all who knew him.

Though he may have left this world, his legacy of love, hard work, and faith will forever live on in our hearts.

Rest in peace, dear Dad, knowing you were truly cherished and will be deeply missed.

Dearest Jimmy, may you rest in peace and watch over us all. You will live forever in our hearts, our friendships (and our gardens). Whether it is a beautiful sunny day, or the wind is blowing leaves and snow from the trees, we will remember you and try to walk in your gentle footsteps. Thank you for making the world a better place and our lives more meaningful. Lindy and family: We are here to support you during this time of loss in anyway that will help. We will miss your dad dearly but know you will carry his love, generosity and good nature on into the future. May joyful memories bring you all peace and comfort. With love, Lorne, Justine, Nico and Paolo.
