Obituary

Peacefully at the age of 89 years. Leaves behind his loving wife, Marie (nee Bordun). Loving father of Julie (Jeff) and Johny (Annette). Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Krystle (Jordan), Victoria, Andrew and great grandchild, Dylan. Will also be sadly missed by sister-in-law Stephanie and her family; nieces Christine and her family; Natalie and family in Ukraine. Bord in Boratyn, Ukraine, John came to Canada in 1952 and enjoyed a full life, being self-employed as a furniture restoration specialist (Johnny’s Finishing Shop). He was active with the church and loved singing in the choir (Prometheus & Burlaka). Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette Street on Sunday September 27th from 6pm to 9pm (Panakhyda at 7:30). A Divine Liturgy and burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday September 28th at All Saints of Ukraine Chapel, 1280 Dundas Street West, Oakville. Interment to follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery A donation can be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice in John’s Honor.
