John passed away suddenly at his home in Toronto at the age of 43. John, or as he was affectionately known to his friends JP, was the beloved son of Eulalia and Raulino Brinco, cherished brother of Mena (Sean) Kelly of Ottawa, Paul (Jennifer) Brinco of Picton, and Christina (Bobby) Brinco-Morse of Toronto. I was lucky to have met and spent time with John. He taught me to laugh and be silly through dark times. He taught me to question authority. He taught me about music & literature. His smile was infectious. His boundless energy contagious. I was one of many in the room that was changed when his presence was felt. I still feel it now, thinking back on him. John was unique, special, brave, true, kind & generous. I am better for having known him.

The phrase one in a Million was created for a man like you John Brinco. Despite the pain, you experienced in your heart and soul you always had a smile and an endless sense of compassion for whoever crossed your path. I know my life was for ever changed for the better by having you in my life. I would have never survived my difficult teenage years without your friendship. Every single time I have thought of you over the years and this has been many times. I have remembered you with such fondness and love that you have guided me through many dark and difficult times. You are the one thing I miss most from back home my one regret I had to sacrifice to escape my own childhood demons. I wish we had remained in closer contact over the years. Please know that you were and are forever in my heart. I have and will never forget you. You my cherished friend. You are an angel who have walked amongst us for a very brief time and for you an often painful experience your love and inner beauty never wavered. You did an amazing job to relief many pains felt by your fellow humans you encountered this I know for sure. Your smile had the ability to light up any room no matter how dark and cold. You my friend are truly an angel amongst man and the world was truly a better place because you were in it. Love to you and your family forever and ever.

My deepest condolences to the Brinco family. I went to elementary school with John and he was one of the sweetest people I had ever met. I only have fond memories of him. I hope all your memories serve as comfort during this tragic time.
