Obituary

Stainton, John Palmer passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. John was with his soul mate, Kathy, for 44 wonderful years. An amazing, supportive and ever proud father to Maggie (Michael) and Emma (Ayrton). Big brother to Barry. Loving and very loved Granddad of Joseph. Uncle John and Grand Uncle to many nieces and nephews. All of whom he loved even from afar. One of John's many life defining moments was performing in the musical Hair. Many life long friends are part of the Hair Tribe. From Hair, John embarked into his musical life where, again, he made many more dear friends. His love of cooking was the start of the second phase of his life. He became a chef for the next 30+ years. Warming more hearts and filling the bellies of even more people. John loved people and only ever saw the good in them no matter their social status. He had a magical way of connecting with people. Perhaps because he was encouraging, supportive and kind; He cared. Everyone who knew John knew his great sense of humour and quick wit filled many a room with laughter and periodically a groan at his puns. And I'm keeping the light on the stairs No I'm not scared, I wait for you. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1pm at The Balmy Beach Club, 360 Lake Front (At the foot of Beech Avenue), Toronto, ON PH 416-691-9962 While our hearts are broken the outpouring of love and support has been incredible and we are grateful for every message and each story that has been shared. We have taken great comfort in the tapestry of his life that is being woven by all of you as we remember him. In place of a guest book we are hoping everyone will help to create a scrap book. He had so many adventures and met so many interesting people and we hope to preserve some of the stories within those pages - Big Fish! Guests are encouraged to bring photos, newspaper clippings and share stories.

I just learned of John's passing from Lee & Mark Sepic. I wish Darryl and I could attend the Celebration of Life you have planned for October 27th but we are celebrating my 60th birthday that weekend - if not, we would be there for certain! I really wish we could be there for you. Kathy, I am pounding at the gates of heaven with prayers of comfort and peace for you and Emma and Maggie! I love you all and hope to see you again sometime soon. I have news to share and can be reached at 513-477-9606. John was a very, very special person. But of course you all know that! Heart felt condolences. Peace to you all, Deb
