Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Manuel Caetano da Terra at the age of 97 on Friday, June 7, 2019. Born and raised in Pico, Azores, he made the long journey to Canada in 1957 where he resided in Toronto.  Working as a carpenter/cabinet maker and Luthier, Manuel devoted his later years to his passion for making stringed instruments. Beloved husband of the late Fernanda da Terra (2016) he leaves his sons, Armenio Terra and Ildeberto (Cindy) Terra, his daughter, Filomena Silveira, grandchildren, Michelle (Michael) Allan and David Silveira, and great grandchildren, Oliver and Caden Allan. He will be forever remembered by his family and friends. Those who wish to make donations in Manuel's name may direct the to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
