Obituary

On Wednesday, July 7th, Mariano De Melo, passed away unexpectedly at age 79. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Natalia (Garcia), his two daughters Carmen and Diane, Diane’s husband Tyler (Middlebrook) and their two children, Audrey and Patrick.

Mariano was born on April 23rd, 1942 to parents Manuel and Maria do Carmo in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, where he was raised with his 5 brothers.  He left Portugal in 1960 and settled in Toronto where he met his wife, Natalia, who he married on August 3, 1968. Together they raised their two daughters, Carmen and Diane.

Mariano enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  He loved an evening with family and friends and a glass of wine at hand. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them and watching them grow.

Mariano was a kind and loving person who genuinely wanted to see everyone around him living their lives happily. He will be missed by all who know him.

May he rest in peace.

In Lieu of flowers, the De Melo family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice.
