Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Mario Amaral announce his passing on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the age of 94. He passed away peacefully with the love of his family surrounding him. Mario will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Balbina of 66 years; children, Margaret (Albert), Helen; grandchildren, Timothy (Krista), Kristian, Madison, and Abigail; great-grandchild, Zoey; siblings, Herminio (Fatima); and numerous other family members and friends. Mario was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Manuel, Jose Fernando, Antonio, and Eduardo. Mario was born in Pico, Acores Portugal in 1929. He was married in 1957 and immigrated to Toronto in 1959. He dedicated his life to hard work, family, and friends. He took great pride in cultivating his vegetable garden at the cottage. He spent most of his social life with friends at Amor Da Patria social club. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who was accepting of all and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Visitations will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm at Cardinal Funeral Home at 366 Bathurst St. Toronto, ON https://www.cardinalfuneralhomes.com. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 15 Grace Street, Toronto, followed by Entombment at Park Lawn Mausoleum at 10:30am, 2845 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke, ON. Memorial Donations in Mario’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto and/ or CNIB (Canadian Institute for the Blind).Visitation
