Obituary
During the 19th day of his treatment for pneumonia and a blood infection at Toronto General Hospital and after nearly 21 years of suffering from multiple sclerosis, Myroslav’s soul left his body. He was born in Toronto in 1960 and raised there in the city’s Ukrainian community by his parents, Illia (1921–91) and Ewhenia. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (Pasadena, CA), Myroslav pursued an acting career in theatre and TV in Los Angeles and Toronto while also working in the graphic-design and publishing world. In the early 1990s he was also the cohost of the Svitohliad Ukrainian news and current-affairs program on Channel 47. He married Alina, the love of his life, in 1993 and managed an internal webpage for Royal Mutual Funds until his failing health prevented him from doing so. Myroslav will be greatly missed by his loving, caring, and devoted wife, Alina; and by his mother, his brother, Roman (Olya), and his stepson, Artur Dwernicki (Dorota) of Cracow. Family and friends will be received at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst St., on Sunday, January 12, at 2–4 and 6–9 PM (panakhyda at 7:30 PM). The funeral liturgy will be held at 10 AM, Monday, January 13, at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 770 Queen St. West. The burial will follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery in Oakville. In memory of Myroslav, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Let us not mourn but rejoice: Myroslav's earthly suffering has ended, and his soul is at peace! Vichna yomu pam’iat'! May our memory of him be eternal!Visitation
