Obituary

Nascimento Da Luz Pimentel, 76 years old of Toronto, Ontario passed away on May 15, 2024. He was born to Maria Jose Amaral Da Luz and Agostinho Caetano Pimentel in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal . He was a deeply beloved father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Zulmira Pimentel, his children Lina Pimentel, Dianne Pimentel and Rick Pimentel, his grandchildren, Shanice, Isaiah, Kyla, Jesai, Caroline and his sister Cesaltina Pimentel along with many nieces and nephews.

He spent a lot of time reading and writing poetry in his first language of Portuguese. He immigrated to Canada in 1971. He worked hard as an immigrant. He owned and operated his own Sports Bar and Billiards in the little Portugal neighbourhood of Toronto. Here he made many friends in the community and was very helpful and kind to all.

One of his greatest gifts was his faith in God. His life was filled with so many opportunities to witness Gods greatness and goodness. He was a Godly man who had a hunger and thirst for justice and righteousness, especially for the poor, the sick and the oppressed. He was the perfect example of Proverbs 19:17

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.

He lived a very simple lifestyle even when he had the opportunity to live a more lavish one. His generosity and kindness was impressive. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
