Obituary

Dad passed away at home in Toronto surrounded by his family, on March 12, 2021 at the age of 83. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Raulino married the love of his life Eulalia (Janeiro Arruda) in 1965, and they would have been married 56 years this September. Loving father of Mena (Sean), Paul (Tanya), Christina (Bobby) and predeceased by his son John in 2017. Proud grandfather to Andrew, Kristina, Grace, Brigid, Nolan, Nathan, Kate and Henry. Our dad was devoted to his family and to his favourite soccer club, Benfica. He worked hard to provide all that we needed sometimes at great sacrifice to himself. His friends and close family will remember him for his artistic and imaginative craftsmanship. He also served as a mentor and teacher to so many others learning their trade. Dad will be fondly remembered for many things, but most notably for his ability to be the life of the party and the grandpa who joked around with his grandchildren, always making them laugh with a funny comment or joke. His courage, strength, grit, sense of humour, impatience with nonsense, and stubbornness will live on in us, his kids who happily embrace all the parts of who he was. Time for you to rest, Dad. Thank you for all you did for us.
Visitation and Funeral will be held privately for immediate family by invitation at Cardinal Funeral Home in Toronto.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions and under direction from our regulator, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, effective November 23, 2020 all funerals and visitations will be by invitation only to limit the number of people in attendance and prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Thank you for your understanding.
