Obituary
July 31, 1954 - September 14, 2008
After a courageous battle with cancer, Steve passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Toronto General Hospital. He leaves his great love and partner Liliane Vidicek. Also survived by his daughter Laura and husband Trevor and his son Stephen and wife Lani. Also survived by his brother and sisters: Gail & John Thomas, Elaine & Bert Bowers, Ron Silversides, Kathy and Diana Silversides, and beloved nieces and nephews: Karine, Stephanie, Adam, Kevan and Keana. He was predeceased by his parents Mary (nee Cavanaugh) and Eric Silversides. Steve began his career with the Boilermakers Union 128 in 1973 and has had a long and successful career going from the field, to a position as a business rep in Thunder Bay. After many successful years in Thunder Bay, he made the move to Toronto where he held the position of Compensation Representative, Apprenticeship co-ordinator and finally moved into the position of Labour Relations rep for the Quality Control Council of Canada. He gained the respect and love of all who have crossed his path and will leave a very big hole in our lives. We will miss him dearly, especially that twinkle in his eye and his quick smile that lit up our hearts, and always will.
