Heartfelt condolences are being extended to the Yanyk family on the loss of Steve Wenda - Husband, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Great Uncle, Great Great Uncle. The Yanyk family embraced Uncle Steve as one of their own when he and Aunt Pauline married. Fond memories of Uncle Steve and Aunty Pauline’s visits through Winnipeg and to the Oakburn family homestead to visit the Yanyk families. Cherished memories of times past: catching up on ‘Yanyk family news’, visiting and overnight stays in Winnipeg, socializing, laughter, singing Ukrainian songs and conversing in Ukrainian with my parents and us, driving to Ukrainian Park camp, questions on how we are doing in school and sports, and on our lives in general! Uncle Steve’s jokes when going past a cemetery “ How many people are dead in there?” Answer: “All of them!” and then Uncle Steve would bellow out his laughter and give us a nudge. The wonderful visits at their home, and visiting with all the Yanyk family in Toronto, all together; spending a Christmas with them at their home. Thank you Uncle Steve and Aunty Pauline for your love… we were truly blessed to have you as family! Memories Forever, Vichnaya Pamyat! May you rest inpeace, Nadia Malchuk and Family, Niece in Winnipeg
