Obituary

On May 25th 1955 in Lomba da Fazenda, Nordeste, Sao Miguel Acores was when Valdomiro Carreiro De Amaral was introduced to this world.  He grew up with his parents (Luis and Gloria), brothers(Antonio and Jose), sisters (Lucia and Fatima)and worked hard to help the family as soon as he was able.

In the late '70s, he was introduced to this future wife who had already moved to Canada from Sao Miguel.  They met through a friend and wrote to each other via letter. They never met in person until they knew it was time to marry.  In November 1978, Valdomiro (Valdi) arrived at Pearson Airport with a suitcase in hand and was greeted by his future father in law (Manuel) and his bride to be Jacinta Da Conceicao (Connie).

On December 16th 1978 Valdomiro and Jacinta (Connie) married and recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.  He called Connie his "Rosa" and Connie called him her "Cravo".

In the 80s his son Jason was born followed by his daughter Stephanie and then his youngest daughter Tanya.

During his time Valdi worked very hard to provide for his family to ensure that everything they needed was available and to give opportunities he never had.  He took pride in his work and worked extremely hard to get the job done.  He loved to build and make repairs to anything he could. He was always there to help those in need whether or not they asked for help.  He taught his children that family, hard work, devotion, loyalty, trust, love, compassion are key in life.

On February 19th, 2024 family day at 11:30pm, Valdomiro at age 68 and after a hard fought battle with cancer passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side. He was never alone. He fought so hard that he ensured that his passing would not occur the day before on his daughter (Tanya) birthday.  All one has to do is look at Tanya and you will see him.

Valdomiro will be dearly missed by his wife Jacinta (Connie), his children Jason (Laura), Stephanie and Tanya.  Proud grandfather to Hillary, Sean and Tessa.  Also missed by siblings Antonio, Jose, Lucia, Fatima.  He will be forever loved and missed. Until we meet again husband, dad, avo, brother.  We love you so much.
